Course Description
Ballistics! Missing bodies! Poisons! Could you be the next Sherlock Holmes? In this course, students will analyze a host of clues to track down some of the most prolific offenders throughout history. Students will scrounge around crime scenes tracing evidence in order to profile criminals and craft legal arguments to bring justice. In the first week, we will introduce the fundamentals of forensic science, examine victims’ bodies, and investigate biological and non-biological evidence. In the second week, we will apply this knowledge to a number of case studies, hold a mock-trial with students partaking in roles such as a judge, prosecution, defense, and jury. Put on your lab coats, and grab your magnifying glass for an in-depth look at the chemistry of crime!
