2019 INNO SUMMER INSTITUTE

Creative Writing

Course Description

If academic writing is the serious, no-nonsense brother of the family, then creative writing is its zany and energetic twin. This course seeks to introduce students to that energy. Through it, students will experience fiction writing from both an analytical and an authorial perspective. They will examine techniques universal to writing as well as delve into niche genres ranging from realistic fiction to horror and the styles of representative authors. Applying their knowledge, they will develop their personal voices within an original creative composition of their own.
