Under the Sea

Course Description

Did you know that more than 80% of the Ocean is unexplored? That the ocean contains 99% of Earth's living space? This course will allow students to explore the science, stories, and mysteries of our planet’s largest ecosystem. Along the way, students will be able to explore the diverse layers of the ocean, analyze food webs, and explore bioluminescence. For the final project, students will be able to create their own ocean in a mason jar, and step into the shoes of a marine biologist! 

Eligibility

  • Student at the Inno Summer Institute​
  • Cannot take Lifesaving 101

Day 2: Food Chains
Day 3: Oceanography
Day 4: Deep Sea Creatures and Bioluminescence
Day 5: Marine Vertebrates
Day 6: Marine Invertebrates
Day 7: Human Impact on Ocean Ecosystems
Day 8: Lifeguard Skills
Day 9: Shark Tank
Day 10: Final Project
